Description
Pyriproxyfen is a juvenile hormone mimic insecticide that is used to inhibit the development or maturation of insects such as Bemisia. In Daphnia, pyriproxyfen mimics methyl farnesoate, causing overproduction of male offspring. Pyriproxyfen also exhibits immunostimulatory activity in vivo, increasing the IgG response and resulting in increased levels of IgG2a, TNF-α, and IFN-γ.
